The United States is very unique in that is has a different health care system for its citizens that most every other country in the world. In the U.S. there are no universal government programs that will offset the cost of health care for most of its citizens. Under this type of system, medical care is available for anyone if they can afford it. You can never be turned down for medical care if it is life threatening, but that pretty much covers the unique situations. Wealthy people enjoy some of the finest health care in the world, but for most of the rest of the population there is no health insurance to help them stay healthy.

Health insurance is seen by many to have way too much red tape, better known as hassles and for the most part they are not wrong. Not only it is expensive, but then if you have a claim or need a specific treatment, there could be legal issues to pay for because of benefits or treatments being denied or deemed unnecessary. The doctors will get their share after the fact, but there is a large part of the bill that remains unpaid. Some is written off as unrecoverable, but the patient is still responsible for a certain percentage. There are many questions left unanswered. It all begins to look like a well thought out executed plan on the part of the doctors and health insurance companies to separate us from our hard earned money. If this is really the case, do we have a choice? We are placed in the unfortunate position of needed at least catastrophic health insurance to cover something as traumatic as cancer or open heart surgery; would you not agree? Yes, as sad as it is everyone in the United States needs to pay for their own health insurance and this is actually in the process of becoming a political mandate. The government is now going to force everyone to carry health insurance and through this process we will all be covered and paying through the nose. Of course, it is important to note that while it may be expensive to pay those health insurance premiums in the end you will be glad that you kept that policy in force. Major illnesses strike every day and is part of life, but to insure that you are not left out in the cold if cancer or heart disease pops up in your future, make sure that you have adequate coverage for such uncertain times. No one can dispute the high cost of these two illnesses and could easily financially sink most anyone not covered by a health insurance policy to ease more than the physical pain.
